One of my fondest memories of growing up in the Driftless area was going berry picking for wild raspberries with my older sisters.
We would make it a grand occasion, waking up super early and attempting to fill ice cream pails full before the heat of the day would hit.
Then we’d make all sorts of baked goods with them or just eat them by the handfuls.
It was some of the best times we spent together.
When I became a mom, I knew I wanted my kids to experience the slowness and sweetness of eating freshly picked berries.
It was crazy times as a young mom taking two babies out to pick berries on my own but it really is some of the sweetest memories I have with them as we were all figuring out life together.
So when we moved back to the Driftless area and were deciding what we wanted to do next…
I wanted to do something that brought some of that joy and magic of picking berries to my community here.
Who doesn’t love berries and having the opportunity to make memories outdoors in this beautiful area!?!?
In the summer of 2023 we planted 3,000 Junebearing strawberry plants (by hand!).
In 2024 we purchased a neighboring property that had 3 high tunnel greenhouses on it with the idea to grow… you guessed it: Organic Strawberries!
These Organic Strawberries produce berries from June to October.
We sell these berries thru various distributers, including local coop stores or you can order them directly from us.
These berries are the BEST, most flavorful Strawberries you will ever eat and they are grown right here in Viroqua, WI.
